Sepoy has won the 2011 AAMI Golden Slipper, breaking clear at the 200m mark to win ahead of the filly pairing of Mosheen and Elite Falls.
The Darley horse spent majority of the race in second, holding the rail while chasing a fast-starting Karuta Queen.
But as the runners moved around the final turn, Sepoy went right past the outside of the Magic Millions winner and no-one could match his pace on the straight.
Mosheen ran strongly behind Sepoy from her barrier one start to finish 2 lengths adrift, while Elite Falls also ran impressively from a wide start to dart down the inside for a place a length and a half further back.
Nothing, however, could match the pace of the horse in front.
Sepoy goes down with horses such as Courtza, Manikato and John's Hope as Diamond/Slipper double winners.
It's the first Slipper win for both jockey Kerrin McEvoy and trainer Peter Snowden.
